The Great Cake-tastrophie

Ok, since I have a bit of time while dinner cooks ...

this past weekend was a Cake auction and used book sale for Ethan's school. I went and helped set up Friday morning and started a box of goodies (books, videos, games, puzzles) ... 44 bucks and I knocked out a ton of holiday gifts ;) I thought Micah would have a fit but nope he was totally ok. teehee Of course he went Saturday night and spent 36 bucks so it was all good ;) Oh did I mention that pretty much everything was 50 cents or a dollar!!!

Saturday night was also a Cake auction ... I started my cake on Wednesday cause I KNEW it was gonna be a chore with miss Alex fighting me the WHOLE time! It was a pink castle! I had these great plans but Alex wasn't having any part of it!! First box of mix Vanilla! First batch of cupcakes outta the oven dumped them on the counter to cool... went to the bathroom was in there for maybe 2 min come out and Alex had taken a bite out of half of my cup cakes!!! I had already used the rest of the batter to make a layer and it was already in the oven! grrr .... Next up the strawberry mix for the bottom layer ... Alex got a little too helpful while we were getting the cake outta the pan it broke on half was ok the other half was in like 6 pieces so one part made the bottom and one part of the very broken up half turned out to be the top of the cake .... AFTER I made this AWESOME HUGE cupcake the bottom was square and the top looked like a huge cupcake top I put it on the counter to cool ... I kept Alex entertained I thought all was well. Then FIL and BIL came home and took my attention. Well I forgot all about my beautiful GIANT cupcake cooling on the counter by the time I remembered it (was reminded by Ethan) Alex had hollowed out the thing!! it was just an empty shell of a giant cupcake :( So at that point I saved enough of the badly broken up half of the strawberry cake and put it on top ...
So imagine this if you will ...
An ok-ish half of a strawberry cake, a almost perfect middle vanilla layer and a salvaged strawberry top layer ... and 4 towers 2 made of 2 cupcakes 2 made of 4 cupcakes ...
all glued together by icing then put in the freezer .... :)

Ok day 2 need to sure up the towers and start icing this thing ... Well Alex thought it helpful to make the towers lay down ... AHHHHHH so tooth picks are added to add a bit of stability!
3rd day .... finish Icing (I had to do this in 2 days because I thought 2 cans of pink frosting would be enough I was wrong!!!) So .... I finish up the pink :) ... but not without one more Alex incident that involved her sticking her little finger into the icing on a tower .... it was crooked and I couldn't fix that anymore cause it was pretty much all iced!! So its Friday evening and I put it back in the freezer. Saturday D-day!! I pipe it and run to the party store to get tiara's, wands, and princess lip glosses .... fix it all up and as best I could and ......

IT WAS FINISHED!!

it went for 22 bucks I was happy with that ... I know how sad it looked LMAO it did have quite a few bids on it tho it started at 5! ;)

Happy Halloweenie!!

Well, Halloweenie was a bit different this year for us ... in years past we have go to Micah's parent's neighborhood and since his mom passed and his dad and bro are living with us that seemed well like a waste of gas since its a 45 min drive. plus it would have been too hard for M to deal with I think. So with 5 days to go til Halloween and the temps being 20 degrees when I got outta bed in the morning I suggested Chucky cheese in their costumes Micah said sounds good so I had to take it to the board (you know the bosses ;) ) Well E that it was a GREAT idea!! So we went to Chucky cheese for Halloween and we bought the kids each a bag of candy the day after when it was all on clearence!! We had a GREAT time Alex refused to wear her costume and E was all about his he wore it for 3 days straight! hahaha I know I know how bad am I?!?!? ok ready for pics???

Alex: she was supposed to be cowgirl riding a horse ... she thought she was the horse ... so she found that TINY horse sticker that is on her shirt and decided that was her costume *rolleyes*

Ethan: My Mario! he had mustache but it was itchy and he wiped most of it off scratching that's why he has those strange black markings LoL Oh and we couldn't find a red hat and I am not a sewing lady like my dear friend over at homeschoolmadness ;) So I had to get a bit creative friday morning so E had a "fire ball Mario hat" LoL
Oh micah micah micah ... *shaking head* I asked him why he didn't get a costume and he said I am wearing it ... I raised my eyebrow at him and then he pulled his pants down the boxers up and pulled the hat to the side .... don't worry he didn't leave the back yard this way but have no fear I was armed with a camera so that I could blackmail his butt bwahahahahaha

The box!! *taking a bow* yes thank you thank you I know how clever I am LoL ... I thought it would be a cool thing for him to have a ToT box that matched the costume! So I got one of those nice paper boxes from A.C. Moore inside it had a jewelry tray and a lip that held that part up ... SO I ditched the original lid took the tray and flipped it upside down and cut a hole in it, modge podged the yellow paper on it, cut out question marks (sparkley felt), drilled holes in the side and used gimp as a handle. He LOVED it! hehehe

So this weeks letter in Mr. Wirsz class (E's teacher) is Ii so I googled (probably used "goodsearch.com" because everytime I search a penny goes to E's school ;) ) "I words" cause he has to take something in on friday that starts with I ... Ok Ok ...

So it's been a while I have several "blogs" to make so first a QUCK update pics will be AFTER I pick up the Boy from school ;)

Me: I am SICK SICK SICK!! It was passed from the BOY. Ummmm Other than that I have been doing well a bit short tempered but overall good ;)

Micah: seems to LOVE his new job and he is doing VERy well! I am still trying to adjust to him not being her ALL the time ... it's strange sometime I get lonely.

Alex: ummm she's 3 ... I know I know this is not new ... but She is REALLY testing me and that's what I keep telling myself ;) she's 3 she is ONLY 3!! Seriously she is So darn cute but she is a handful ;)

E: he was sick not last week but the week before with a fever ... he missed Thursday and Friday from school ... He went to school last Monday and came done with something else that night and missed tuesday, wednesday and thrusday ... and I got to be reminded why I sent him TO school and decided to retire from homeschool! I only had to teach him 3 days ... he was back to school friday :) and he is pretty much all better now :) Alex and I are a different story.

Ok... more indepth with pics will be coming later today ... I hope!! if not def tomorrow while E is in school! I need to get Alex dressed .... yes dressed ... She is pottytraining and no pants is just easier ;) plus she likes to be nekkie so I really hate to fight if I don't need to hahaha (she does have a shirt on so she wont catch a chill) like I was trying to say before my mind went somewhere else I need to get Alex dressed so that I can go to get E!! I miss that kid when he isn't here .... he does such a good job of watching alex!! hehehe I am totally joking ... or am I!! Ok Ok I really am going so I can go pick up my cuddle butt!!

Rainy Rainy day

It rained and rained and rained today ... it made for some cute little stories...
Since it was a bit chilly at 7:20 this morning I decided Ethan should wear a long sleeve shirt his long sleeve shirts are apparently Teflon coated to protect against liquid stains. Ethan was on his way to the car this morning in the rain and the rain beaded up on his sleeves he told he he thought it was a "rain shirt kinda like his raid coat" it was a cute moment . He had a great day and got his wish to stay in after care ... the ran delayed me and I was late picking him up and since he was already there and playing with the girl that colored the picture for him I decided to just let him stay :D He was happy with that decision ... Micah went in and the little girl introduced her self and Ethan LMAO Ethan said "he knows who I am he's my daddy!"

Alex was a bit unruly today and with the rain there was no way to let her run off her energy I had to come up with something and QUICK! So I took a page from a good friends book and decided to make a discovery bottle!! I had to google ideas cause she doesn't have any pics of hers!!! So todays was a wave bottle .... Oil, water, and food coloring .... real simple I PROMISE!! any how she loved it!! wanna see?!?! excuse the messy kitchen and the messy shirt ... it was a LONG day! LoL

Play day!!

Well first off E had a wonderful day :) I really am so proud of him he is doing SOOOOO well!! He even asked me if he could buy lunch on Wednesdays from now on because it's pizza day. All I can say is WOW! didn't think that would happen this year! LoL
Today E found out that his class won the pizza party for having the highest percentage of parents show up to back to school night!! He was SOOOO excited! We also got the school news letter which contained ALL sorts of info including next weeks letter which is "O" AND the bible verse he has to memorize by next friday ...

Alex and I had a GREAT change of pace today We had a play day!! I think Alex will enjoy her new friend and I KNOW I will enjoy my new friendship! I am very thankful to add a very local lady to my circle of wonderful friends :)

Oh and a very cool thing!! Micah took E out to dinner tonight because my tummy was a little icky E ran out the door he was SOOOO excited to go with his dad out somewhere alone. Their relationship is really blossoming. It makes me smile to see Ethan enjoy his daddy time!!

Tuesdays moment

Well this morning was HARD for me to even get myself outta bed I was just dragging ... I didn't get outta bed til 6:40 that is the ABSOLUTE latest I can get up and still get everything done ... IF I rush! We have to be out the door by 7:30 to be at school by 8 ... school starts at 8:15 ;) In the afternoon the trip takes only 25 min cause the traffic is not going the same way I am... the trip back home however ... can take 40 min if I hit traffic! it's crazy! Anyhow I got up late for me ... missed my shower, threw together a lunch luckily I had mac-n-cheese in the fridge ;) got e outta bed at 7:10 and rushed him through his morning. Got him to school walked him to the door and went back to my car ... Started it up drove from the side of the school to the front and felt horrible for rushin' the boy this morning I parked the car and when in and told him I was sorry ... he didn't even care!! LOL Fast forward to this afternoon ... I left the house in time to get to school at 3:35 he gets out at 3:30 and we have until 3:45 to pick them up before they go to after care SOOOOooooo I am halfway there and notice my car is on E!! I had to stop for gas and because I have diesel I can't just pay at the pump I HAVE to go in takes FOREVER!! So I get to the school AT 3:46 I sent Micah in and Ethan was already in aftercare!! Well, E comes to the car with this horrible look on his face I thought he was upset cause he thought I forgot him or something I was SOOOOOOOOOO off He was upset because I "ruined his after care fun" geeeesh Ethan could you grow up any faster?!?!? he was BEGGING to go to aftercare sometime! what am I supposed to do with that?? really?!?! any suggestions??

oh and ummmm no home work tonight ... :D and as usual he had a GREAT day he even got a sticker on his class work!!!
